Prehistoric Lake Dwellings and Archaeological Tools – Original Antique Print, Meyers 1888

📏 Dimensions: 30 × 24 cm

Original 1888 black-and-white illustrated encyclopedia plate titled “Pfahlbauten” (Lake Dwellings), from volume 12 of the fourth edition of Meyers Konversations-Lexikon, published by Bibliographisches Institut in Leipzig. The sheet depicts prehistoric European lake-dwelling architecture and archaeological finds: reconstructed pile-built huts, a lake settlement, stone axes, antler tools, spearheads, pottery, ornaments, weaving and fishing implements. The illustrations are historical representations of archaeological evidence, not photographs of the prehistoric period.

An authentic 19th-century printed sheet, not a modern reproduction. The paper shows a visible central fold, gentle age toning and minor handling marks consistent with age, as photographed. Sold as one unframed physical antique print; any frame or passepartout in styled photographs is for presentation only and is not included.
